You can do it either way.

Most of the time I just build them how the instructions say then I panel-line them and replace stickers using markers

But sometimes I buy a couple to combine and make my own

Image if they made custom ones that are certain peices that, unexplainable, mainly don’t have the words

There are some that have unused parts but those are usually because they re-used a runner from another kit

Third one is also spare parts but isn't even close to done but it's got potential
