So, Z was hunting one day when he found this Worker Drone hunched over another WD's body, crying her eyes out. At this point, Z had gone rogue and separated from his squad, so his first instinct was to see what was wrong. Push turned to shove when X and Y (Z's former teammates) tried to kill Emily, and Z defended her. This happened a few more times as Z tried to get Emily to a place where she would be safe. Eventually, they made their way to Emily's colony, who agreed to look after Z after he defended their bunker from X and Y.

So respun main story.

I'll be honest - Z started as one of N's apparent clones who activated prematurely named 26.

In fact, 26 is his own separate entity who serves the same purpose. Wanna see him?

Sure.

26's red accents and eye are a result of premature activation. Z's red lights are one of several things salvaged from 26. They're two vastly different people, but they're also so very similar.
