[ERROR IN RECORDING] a short story

The body was slumped against the wall, a large crack in the screen. The robot was missing its regular two red eyes, only leaving an unsettling dark void.
Two large rats stared at the metal husk. One approached, tentatively. It sniffed the strange metal being. The body of the rat was the same length as its TV head. It was a very small robot.
Suddenly it twitched and static appeared on the screen. A loud voice came out of its speakers.
“HELLO IF ANYONE CAN SEE THIS [Static]”
The rats ran away, leaving the metal body alone.
The man began to speak again.
“I REPEAT IF ANYONE CAN HEAR THIS I NEED YOU TO PROTECT MY CREATION [Static] MORE POWERFUL THAN I COULD EVER HAVE IMA[Static]”
The static clears away revealing a distressed looking man wearing a lab coat. A door breaks down behind him and several armed soldiers march in. The leader points his gun at the scientist.
“STEP AWAY FROM THE ROBOT.”
The poor guy steps away from the camera, holding his hands up.
BANG BANG BANG BANG
The bullets ripped through his chest like nothing.
The video stops. Glitch’s eyes reappear on their screen.
They stayed quiet for the rest of the night.
