Section 2: Technology.

We've lived through getting unrestricted access to the Internet at a younger age. We've seen things that could potentially be traumatizing. Being exposed to pornography and gore are some examples, along with gaslighting, grooming, and general manipulation.

Some of us have watched our peers commit suicide over these issues, some of us watch our peers constantly attention seek. Or the opposite, we watch our peers become overly toxic and hate on minorities - reverting to how things used to be.
(In a city not far from where I live, a 14 year old trans boy got jumped - beaten to death - by some kids in his school. This occured a few months ago.)

Now, we're seeing Generation Alpha being heavily influenced by social media too.

Generation alpha is even more heavily influenced by trends than we were, because most of us happened to be in middle of high school when the pandemic hit us.

Generation alpha however, were in elementary school, preschool, or still a young child at the time. They have significantly less awareness of communication skills necessary, and education to prepare them for a global shutdown.

We're watching Millennials have children, and giving them iPads because they don't know how to parent their children. They try to excuse it by saying "we don't want to beat our children like our parents did, and we're still dealing with anxiety of that".
But we have been through abuse too, and many are still being abused. The problem didn't simply vanish. But if you can't handle your own mental health, you are in no position to be a parent. That's what millennials aren't grasping.

Section 1: Major financial crisis.

Since the 1980s, the cost of living has skyrocketed a horrifying amount: 68 percent. Also since the 1980s, working wages have only increased a mere 18 percent.

(These statistics are pulled from 1982 and 2022's averages, respectively.)

We cannot survive in this world on a single job anymore. We might survive on two, or seek a side hustle to cover our bases as well. Often people now are combining finances and live in more communal settings, because they simply cannot afford to live alone. Raising a child from birth to 18 years old is extremely expensive as well, we as a generation recognize that simply cannot raise a child if we are barely able to sustain ourselves.

I do my work by spreading awareness, work for a bilingual mental health company, and am a member of the Sunrise National Movement. But not everyone is doing their part, and we can't do it alone.

Honestly as someone in that age range I do like to see more political content like this in MSMG. Even if I don't necessarily agree with Spire on some things.

Then go to r/politics

1) I don't use Reddit.
2) r/politics is heavily skewed toward leftist content. I'm not a leftist.
3) That stream's moderation is terrible.

THIS.. ^

me personally, i'm gen z and i definitely want to have kids.

i think a lot of problems in society are happening because once we introduced social security we removed the incentive of having a lot of kids. nowadays tons of people living in western countries have like 1-2 kids, sometimes even zero, while people living in lesser developed countries have way more.

western countries right now (especially japan) are facing underpopulation.

in my opinion, the more people born in western countries, the more educated people we have, meaning the more people we have that can potentially fix problems like climate change.

3: Climate change.

I shouldn't need to say a single thing about this, it should be obvious.

It's much harder to control birth rates in less developed countries than in Western countries. Why should we abstain from having kids while people over in less developed countries only continue to do so? Especially when what we've already been doing for decades is barely making an impact on preventing global overpopulation? In my opinion, we need more educated people that are willing to solve problems like this.
