That's not a symbol, it's actually a thing called a shell unit. It's a thing in the anime it's from. There are a few Gundams that have more of them and there's even a kit that has a third party LED set

Also I just looked it up and mobile suit Gundam first came out in 1979 while transformers came out in 1984. HOWEVER mobile suit zeta Gundam came out in 1985, so they might've taken inspiration in that one since it had the first transforming Gundam

3d printing is way beyond me lol, even if I knew how to do it idk where I'd put the printer



I buy them either online or at a store like hobbytown or hobby lobby then build them, they come in a bunch of pieces that you cut out of these plastic frame things called runners

I'm about to get an old CNC machine off one of my friend's parents, and my dad is going to teach me machining against my will- tbh tho I feel like I will actually use it for personal stuff, I do have plans for 3d models

I plan to give it a transformation mechanism.



It's gonna be pretty simple, and actually pretty close to a pre-existing Gundam



This is just to keep the jet inspiration there but not as obvious
