I have several questions, does this mean I have to be invited to request images for my incurable horniness, what does this mean for mods, and will people have to age verify to be invited?

It just means that the stream is no longer listed in the site directory, and it won't show up in people's profiles under streams followed/moderated. Nothing will change for anyone who already follows it, and anyone who isn't already following can still follow if they have the stream address.

You can still submit and view images, and comment as usual. And everything in your profile will look the same to you. If someone else looks at your profile, the hidden streams will be omitted. Ditto any memes and comments made to hidden streams--they aren't visible through your profile page. It helps prevent people from stalking us.

I asked the first private stream mod I met if uncensored porn was allowed and it confused me when they said no, until they explained that global mods can see all the memes on your account even if they're not posted anywhere. Big brother is always watching. (Plus people with the link to your private stream can dox your memes.)
