America invented nuclear weapons, but America never would have used them if Japan had not attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Japan started it, and America finished it in a way that caused less damage and fatalities than a all-out, full-scale D-Day style invasion of Japan, which, if executed ,would have cost at least 2 million lives on both sides.

The context of the meme originally was making a comparison to BLM rioters trashing and looting neighborhoods and businesses and causing harm to innocent people and their property.
