It’s like they saw Jim Carey in Sonic and thought all they needed to do was shove a famous actor in their movie.

Jim Carey EMBODIES Eggman perfectly.
Jack Black just has a blue shirt.

Jim Carey doesnt really fit Eggmans personality that great.

and they literally cast Jason Mamoa in Minecraft anyways, they couldve just had him play steve and it wouldve worked way better. just swap their roles and itd be so much better

Jim Carey does a great job portraying the self-absorbed genius who hates how dumb everyone else is.

Yeah he does add a lot of his own coolness to the role, but he nails the villainous aspect.

that part i agree with, but the rest of the general personality and just mannerisms not so much. to be fair, no actor is going to perfectly capture a fictional character, but it couldve been better

Now that I think about it, Jack Black as Eggman wouldn’t be the worst…
