An article written around 1901/1902 for the New York Times a few months after the failure of the first airplane, saying that “These confounded flying machines will never work.” The article quickly was proven extremely incorrect when iin 1903 the first successful airplane flight occurred, conducted by the Wright Brothers.

The omission of part of the article into the comment made by the iFunnier was done to show that technological pessimism is often proven wrong, and that we should never think of things as too difficult.
