Nobody 'scuttled' anything - the Trump Administration didn't have a bill, it established through executive order a voluntary, time-limited (valid only from 2021-2023) model known as the Part D Senior Savings Model, in which plans would need to cover at least one of each dosage form and type of product at the $35/mo price point.

Less than half of Part D plans chose to participate in that program.

Biden signed, as part of the Infrastructure Reduction Act, a law that requires all Part D plans to charge no more than $35/mo for all covered insulin products, and limits cost sharing to $35/mo on Part B plans. This took effect last year, and is permanent.

Trump likes to announce things, but he has little to no ability to follow anything through - it was true on 'Lock Her Up', it was true on 'Build The Wall', it was true on '$35 insulin', and it's just as true on tax-free tips.

I don’t really care about insulin. I care more about energy policy. If we have a great energy policy then everything else will be better

The point is you can have the best policy in the world, and it won't matter if the administration you pick to enact it is incapable of doing so.

We produce more oil now than at any point during Trump's administration, and that's before you consider the other energy sources that are growing exponentially since he was run out of office.

I don’t think a price cap is a good policy even when a Republican does it. The president main goal should be mitigating disasters, a policy of deregulating and allocating more companies to compete

Not a scam and not passed in an election year by a lame duck - it was part of the Inflation Reduction Act that passed in August of 2022.

In July 2020, Trump signed a series of executive orders that he posited served as an end-all solution for lowering high premium prices of prescription drugs — including the price of insulin, which he claimed would “come down to just pennies a day.” Under the Executive Order on Access to Affordable Life-Saving Medications, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) was required to make changes aimed at lowering the cost of EpiPens, or injectable epinephrine, for Americans with severe allergies and the cost of insulin for those diagnosed with diabetes.

An important caveat to note is that Executive Order 13937, issued by Trump, had not yet been put into law. Though it was published in the federal register on Dec. 23, 2020, the order was not scheduled to go into effect until Jan. 22, 2021 — two days after Biden issued a freeze on all rules made by Trump that were not yet in effect.

And like pretty much everything Trump has ever done in his life, it was an abject failure because of his inability to understand how things work, but it made for a great press release, right?

"The regulation, which was based on an Executive Order issued last July, was based on a fundamental misunderstanding that would have imposed extensive administrative burdens and targeted EpiPens and insulin dispensed by health centers and purchased under the federal 340B drug discount program."

"The stated aim was to cut drug prices...it would accomplish the opposite of what the Trump Administration intended — ultimately making it harder for health centers to provide affordable life-saving services and prescription drugs"

"the insulin and Epipen regulation that was frozen by the Biden Administration only affects medications purchased through the 340B drug discount program at health centers. The overall prices of insulin and Epipens across the country are not affected by the Trump Administration regulation or the recent action by the Biden Administration."

Gridlocked by two entire years during which his party held the White House and both houses of Congress?

Or by the fact that he didn't think to buy seniors' votes until 2020?

I'm unhinged ? lol
A sellout that brags about climbing the social & professional "healthcare" ladder during the last ten years, calling me unhinged. That IS RICH !
You keep attempting to reassure yourself that you aren't a bottomfeeder.

No, the climbing part of my career ended nearly 20 years ago when I left my director-level position at a credit bureau to start a company that took over a line of business they were stepping out of.

I only mention that background because you don't seem to realize I can smell the nonsensical bullshit about healthcare you're selling from miles away.

Did I say healthcare ?
I meant BIG PHARMA & I'm not wrong about it. You are a culpable participant & unindicted co-conspirator, tho.

Biden froze trump's order to lower insulin and epipens, he made millions of diabetics suffer so he can make it look like it was his idea. It sucks when people can remember past yesterday, a lot harder to rewrite history.

It really is harder to rewrite history when you pay attention to it, instead of just grabbing headlines that sound like they make your point:

"The regulation, which was based on an Executive Order issued last July, was based on a fundamental misunderstanding that would have imposed extensive administrative burdens and targeted EpiPens and insulin dispensed by health centers and purchased under the federal 340B drug discount program. The stated aim was to cut drug prices. However, it triggered alarm among safety-net health care providers and bipartisan lawmakers because it would accomplish the opposite of what the Trump Administration intended — ultimately making it harder for health centers to provide affordable life-saving services and prescription drugs — especially during the pandemic."

Or you could maybe spend some time seeing if what you believe is true first so I don't have to point out how you're parroting stupid propaganda.

Blatantly false:

The overall prices of insulin and Epipens across the country are not affected by the Trump Administration regulation or the recent action by the Biden Administration."

Thats a press release that means nothing. Biden froze trumps orders on insulin prices. That is the bottom line no matter how you try to spin it.

It's a press release -from the clinics- that were impacted by the executive order.

Trump's order didn't lower insulin prices, nor would it have because it was a -voluntary- program that less than half of the Part D plans took part in.

Bottom line is it was a great press release, but like the wall, infrastructure week, and damned near everything Trump has done, didn't work and was never really intended to.

right a press release from not clinics.. no, from NACHC , and left wing organization that loves to do ambulatory surgeries, we all know what those are... Trumps order never took place , how the f can you say it was a failure if it never had a chance to go into effect cause BIDEN FROZE IT . lmfao

The NACHC isn't a 'left wing organization' - although I guess at this point you guys consider anything short of exterminating the poor and handicapped to be communism.

You seem confused again - Executive Orders are internal guidance, they aren't 'put into law' unless the Legislative branch writes and passes a law.

Had EO 13937 gone into effect, it would have been a disaster for the organizations that purchased those drugs under 340B.

You are going by a ridiculous press statement by an organizarion that sucks democrat ass. But that is good enough for you, if the law went into effect and it sucked that would be one thing.. but it didn't. Yet you still are oinking about how it was failure lmfao wow

No, I actually work in healthcare and know what I'm talking about, while you're uncritically regurgitating whatever shit you drank out of that open sewer of propaganda you call 'news'.

There was no 'law' to go into effect - it was an Executive Order that only applied to a single segment of drug buyers, and would have had the opposite of the intended effect.
