The cornucopia, often part of Thanksgiving displays in the U.S, comes from Greek mythology. Zeus had escaped from being devoured by Kronus, & was being raised in secret by nymphs. They fed Him the milk of the goat Amalthea. They also broke off her horn & made into an inexhaustible source of fruit & grain so that He could grow up strong enough to exact revenge.
