When looking weird weren't that rebellious anymore, I guess a new way of pissing people off became needed. Giving your non-binary expression pronouns, which others need to adhere by. By not considering yourself a boy simply bc you're not a boy stereotype, devalues what the old rebels were fighting for - the fluidity of boys. Also it indirectly declares what a boy is - like 'boys wear blue', and since you don't, you're not a boy. Deeply regressive

I'm pretty sure that's not how the trans/non-binary came out.
Hell I'm not a boy stereotype, ik about LGBTQ, and did I affirmate another gender ? No, why would I do so ?
I think it went exactly where the rebel wanted : break the boxes we put ourselves when we're reqlly young to affirmate our true self when we're mature enough to feel it.
Also yeah the "boy wear blue" died before I was born, and plenty of people now wear anything and get any haircut they like without going to the extreme of changing their gender, so I think we're progressing.
