Here is the difference between the leaders of communist countries and wealthy American businesses. The leaders of communist countries have provided or created ZERO of their own... ZERO! They just seized power!
American business people on the other hand... have worked hard, saved money, came up with a great business idea, financed loans, insured that idea, rented or built the building that held their business, bought equipment, bought insurance, hired workers, started that business, spent 18 hours or more hours per day on that business, were the last to be paid... and if there was no profit then they do not get paid at all!
The few powerful business people who can make the move to try to influence politicians are the ones who have succeeded against great odds... because 20.4% of businesses fail in their first year after opening, 49.4% fail in their first 5 years, and 65.3% fail in their first 10 years. READ THOSE STATS AGAIN!
Here is the thing though... when a country is so corrupt that business people or other organizations have powerful and outsized influence on the legislative bodies, and over the laws of a capitalistic country... then that country is no longer capitalistic but rather has become "cronyistic" and "nepotistic"!
Has capitalism failed in America... no, not failed but quite degraded! But that is not due to a failure of capitalism but rather the failure to uphold capitalistic ideals! Some of which are free speech, free trade, clarity rather than opacity, the belief that the hand that plant the corn should be the hand that gets to put that corn in his mouth, encourages innovation, promotes freedom, and equality.
One "cronyistic" and non-capitalistic business model in America today is the medical/drug field... which is so opaque that no one knows what the prices are... and where middle-men make billions! This business model has zero to do with capitalism... it is opaque... there is no clarity which capitalism demands. The best word to describe this system employed by the medical/drug world is mercantilism! Capitalism also demands competition... of which there is little in this industry!
