There is no honor bestowed by the United States that is "the equivalent of the congressional Medal of Honor." It is the ultimate honor, because those who earned it made the ultimate sacrifice. Some survived by a miracle. But all were willing to give it all.

The late, Pam Murphy, the Widow of Audie Murphy-the most decorated soldier of WWII and a Medal of Honor winner, was my employee and friend at the Sepulveda VA Medical Center. She would ask us to pray for God to enlighten Trump and those who diminish the sacrifices made by others that they were not willing to make. Trump is in my prayers, always.

No one “wins” the CMH. It isn’t a contest and it isn’t a prize. It is an award. One is awarded the CMH.
As a VA admin, you should know this.

The MoH is awarded, to be sure. Back in the day, we called recipients "Winners," to convey a positive image. Calling them "Loders," like Trump has may appeal to you more. Most people are OK with them being called Winners.
