Still, the point of following someone generally shows how popular someone is. Not following anyone at all kind of defeats that purpose.

I think following people is a way of showing who you’re friends or you follow someone because you think they’re funny/you like their posts. You can do the same without following them, and some people forget to follow others like I do. It makes no sense to just follow people randomly just because they have a shit ton of followers.

Read my other post. I’m not calling for users to randomly follow bigger users against their own personal opinion. I’m saying that if you like someone’s content or are friends with them, then you should.
