Where do I even begin here? This is spellbinding. The artist's eye for movement and making the eye follow a path is at an all-time high with this one, with both the obvious and the understated. Everything about this is so cohesive that the longer you linger, the more you'll see. As I said, where do I start? Her gaze and pose suggests she is going in one direction, and the movement of her skirt is so dreamlike and beautiful. The motion and positioning of the background, although abstract, also serves a purpose. I can imagine an animated version of this piece in which the character is a dancer, leaping from planet to planet as smoothly as the artist who drew her can make her own ideas flow. Even the additional objects in the background are not distracting; rather, they also convey different angles and movement. It is so easy for me to picture the different elements of it spinning and swirling to make one cohesive animation. I love when she goes into fantasy art because as oversaturated as the market is for it and as many common tropes as it has, she still always comes up with ideas nobody would think of, but that have universal appeal. I'm not sure whether this is intentional, but it reminds me of this animated series from when I was growing up, Sky Dancers. I never watched it much, but it was quite popular and I wouldn't doubt that the artist has seen it or at least knows of it.
