Sounds like those agents would have a Brady issue in a court against a taxpayer.

Brady (a legal ruling) and its progeny require prosecutors to seek out and disclose to the defense any material exculpatory evidence, including evidence that could be used to impeach police witnesses. (See the article for what constitutes “material,” “exculpatory” and “impeachment” evidence.)

Makes sense... they spent 60 BILLION hiring the first 87,000 to recover 1 Billion... so they can maybe recover another Billion by spending 60 Billion more.
