Yeah. It's just a word. A word that might make certain people uncomfortable because it has been used for centuries to openly insult minorities who were enslaved and mistreated.

well, you know the same thing can be said of slurs against white people that had exactly the same intent. and to say that such things did not happen and to act as though it only ever happened to one race is particularly ignorant. if you want to use racial slurs to debase people fine with me, thats your decision and your life. but dont then say that no one can do the same to you.

I don't use discriminatory slurs in general.

It was very much in the scope of discussion, but I do not wish to discuss further as you have failed to make a clear and short point.

Ive made my point repeatedly. It has been clear and concise, just because you are too lazy to read does not mean my point has not been made repeatedly in this discussion.

Yes. Its just a go***mn word. Just as disposable and easy to disregard as the people you dislike.

You're clearly not black.

You clearly allow words to manipulate your life rather than thinking for and defining yourself.

I'm not letting words manipulate me. I'm trying to say that that word is a racial slur, which is not okay. And if you can't get that, well, you're either dumb, a kid, or just really dense. Or just rude.

Why? Because you've been told to attach meaning to the meaningless? Because you have it in your head that racial slurs hold some mystical power, that there usage even in benign discussion is somehow evil, while the people who told you that maintain that it is acceptable to use racial slurs for white people?

I don't think there's slurs for white people. Or a way to use the n word nicely. But I don't know everything. I've still got a lot to learn. Maybe you're right. But to me, that word is unacceptable.

Well maybe you should change your mind. Here are a few slurs for white people btw: Goi, Gaijin, Gringo, Mayo monkey, Cracker, Snow Roach, Red Man (so named by Native Americans because we sun burn easily and turn red), Gaijin can just mean foreigner in Japanese, but it also meant barbarian or the great unwashed. Gringo generally means outsider but can mean white people in specific contexts, cracker im not clear on exactly but i believe it originated in FL. Redneck was a slur against farmers because their necks would get sunburned, Jay as in jaywalking was slur against the Irish, specifically meaning drunken Irish trash. There is plenty more. Point being, we all have slurs for each other, and all of those slurs come from specific stereotypes. All races on this planet have at some time or another been sold out and subjugated usually by our own people throughout history. No one owns language or culture. We even have slurs and derogatory terms within our own races. Goi is what Jewish people call pretty much anyone who isnt Jewish and is often used in a deragotory fashion, same with infidel for anyone who isnt muslim. Look up the word N**gardly. That definition dosent describe black people or black stereotypes but rather a type of selfish behavior similar to the term Indian giver which comes from a stereotype of people who will gift you a thing and then demand it back. Not sure if that one was specifically Native Americans or Indians. There is an entire world of language that people who get offended at words simply have not or refuse to learn about.

I read all that, my ADHD brain couldn't understand it, but this argument is kinda dumb anyways, so lets just stop.

No I need to say so much more. You came over here and started this debate. You could have moved on. Im not going to let it end on such a weak attempt at you getting a final word. Politely telling me to shut up is still telling me to shut up, and I will not. You also have the option of just walking away. You might not like the arguments, and I can only guess how deeply you understand them, but know this: there is a reason that Martin Luther King and Malcolm X did not use certain language. They knew then what today seems to have forgotten, trying to be actively anti racist only creates more strife and warfare. You cannot fight violent rhetoric with more violent rhetoric. All this new age antiracist talk does is further inflame the situation. Many words can sound inspiring, while causing more problems than they solve. People need to be free to be who they are. We all must accept that racism is a part of us, racial bias and tribalism where part of survival of the species. We will eventually evolve past them, but it is going to take time, cant say how long, but I can say the only thing that will help the process along is education and not victim hood, unifying language and the rhetoric of strife. Thinking about the arguments of pseudo intellectuals who would make any race superior to another and rejecting them. Rejecting racial guilt. Making things right in our own lives and with ourselves and then making things right with each other. Dropping all pretense of fear, accepting that some will always hate, some will always love, some are full of both in equal measure. We cannot force change, we can only encourage it with beauty and art and self introspection.

You know what? I'm not even gonna reply anymore. This is a little too much for me. So, goodbye for now. :)

"unifying language and the rhetoric of strife". I meant to say and NOT the rhetoric of strife.

That's all youve got argument is dumb, so I dont want to talk about it? No, the argument isnt dumb, you are. Ill add the point that through it all almost everyone but black people and Native Americans have kept a sense of humor about it. Also, the Turkish/Armenian Genocide ring any bells for you? It should, its another source of ethno hatred and slurs for white people. In fact, SOAD (system of a down) have many songs that are specifically about the armenian genocide. I can understand a people who have almost been wiped off the face of the Earth having little sense of humor about certain things. Yet if you look at post ww2 Japan, they maintain a sense of humor about nuclear warfare, so maybe, just maybe, people should forgive, never forget, but at least forgive the sins of the past. Stop letting the past keep you in a state of fear and live your life in the now.

Most people agree with me when I say that. I don't know if you just don't take a hint or are just rude. But anyways, you've made your point. I understand what you're trying to say. You don't need to try and prove it more. :)

Most people are uneducated. Just because people agree with you, dose not mean you are correct, it can in fact mean, they are just as uneducated as you are. A slur is a slur no matter who is being called it. It dosent matter if you dont think of it as a slur, if you use it in a derogatory manner then it is in fact a slur. So you cant tell me Im racist for discussing slurs while also saying you are not racist while you actively call me slurs.

This is straying very far from the original claim.

Actually, no. Just because I keep a sense of humor and dont let what people call me drag me down, does not erase the intent. Sure, people are always going to be derogatory and mean. But only you allow them to live rent free in your head, and only you can evict them. If you let others and what they think rule your life, if you would live in fear of hearing a word while making others afraid of using a word, then that is intellectual terrorism that creates and imbalance of power and destroys the concept of unity in the name of our common humanity.

I understand what you're trying to say. Okay? You don't need to say anything anymore.
