Love the attitude. Again, I'm not big into metal, but it's clear that the artist is really passionate about the scene because she perfectly captures the essence of a metalhead bloke despite my limited awareness of the scene as a whole. The feathered hair is such a nice touch. Upon first sight, I spent far too long imagining what "her" hair might feel like texture-wise until I realised this was a man, haha. But that doesn't detract from how every little detail serves the mood without feeling over-the-top or exaggerated. His disdainful look reminds me of several individuals I know all too well, but you know the artist is brill if she can evoke this with an image of an imaginary character. The messy room and scuzzy atmosphere of the piece may seem off-putting in a way of making you think "I wouldn't want to meddle about with that guy," but that doesn't make for bad art. On the contrary, it adds to the immersion of the piece because good art doesn't always just mean that something is pretty or has mainstream appeal. Good art can evoke anything, and if it succeeds in its intentions, no matter what they may be, it is good, and this is really well-done.
