It's dark because Epstein didn't have the same luck that Trump had. Apparently Trump's shooter didn't have any magnification on his gun, among other things. I guess it's also harder to kill somebody in broad daylight. Compare that to where Epstein was killed.
To elaborate further, I'd really need a better understanding of Epstein's motives. Problem is we don't think about things from his perspective enough. I guess he'd be vengeful towards his killers, who I guess are implied to be whoever is targeting Trump. But other than that, there's some plot holes.
