Duplo Spiegel is a normal 19 year old boy. At least he claims he is. He has everything a normal boy would have. A best friend (named Damien Fritz), decent grades, and a HUGE crush on this one girl at his school.
Damien: What are you looking at man?
Duplo: Isn’t she just perfect?
Damien: Victoria Timber? Again?
Victoria was the most popular girl at the school. Many boys had a crush on her, but she has always rejected others' advances.
Damien: Dude, you have to move on. You’re never gonna get her.
Duplo: Of course I will! Remember that time she gave me a valentine card?
Damien: She gave everyone one. She’s just that nice.
Duplo: What about that time she let me use her pen?
Damien: She does that with everyone. She even let me keep a pencil one time.
Duplo has nothing else to say. It’s true, Victoria was the nicest person he knew, and that's why he NEEDED to be by her side.
Duplo: Come on man, the minute she sees me, I’ll be her new boyfriend!
Damien: Oh yeah? Check this out. Hey Victoria!
Victoria, who was talking with her friends from afar, notices Damien waving at her and comes right over.
Damien: I’ll prove she’s impossible to date.
Victoria arrives in front of the two boys
Victoria: Yes?
Damien: I have a huge crush on you, blah blah blah, will you date me.
He says nonchalantly, confident in proving his point. Duplo sighs as he listens to Damiens half assed confession but-
Victoria: Oh of course I will!
Damien and Duplo look at her surprised
Duplo and Damien: What…
Victoria: Truth is… I was only rejecting the other boys because I was saving myself for you! So I will gladly date you!
Duplo: Dude, not cool!
Damien: Eh… I came for copper, and I found Gold
As the two hug each other, the bell rings.
Victoria: Call me!
Damien: I will!
Victoria blows a kiss to Damien as she skips off happily
Damien: Ah… she’s as innocent as a… a…
Duplo: Rabbit?
Damien: Um… yeah.
Duplo just looks emotionless as he continues to walk with Damien.
Damien: Hey man, I’ll see you tomorrow. And if she ever breaks up with me, I’ll help hook you two up, alright?
Duplo: Alright…
Damien pats him on the back
Damien: Great! See ya!
He walks off as his phone rings
Damien: hello? Oh hi Victoria!

As the sounds of Damien’s phone calls fade from Duplos mind, he walks home, pissed off on how horrible his day is. His mom welcomes him back but he walks past her and goes to her room. He writes everything that happens into her journal and heads off for the night. That night… All he can think about is Victoria. Sweet innocent Victoria. Just like a rabbit, walking in the beautiful moonlight… easy prey. The next day, Duplo wakes up. He can’t seem to remember the night he had, but he brushes it off as he heads to the bathroom to brush his teeth… He starts to cough, which sends blood coming out of his mouth.
Duplo: ow… I should get that checked later…
He chugs some medicine and heads to school. There, all the students are looking down for some reason. Some girls are even crying. Duplo knew his school was a sad place, but not this sad. Later he finds Damien who seems extremely paranoid.
Duplo: Hey Damien! How was your… date with her…
Damien: I don’t want to talk about it… she didn’t even show up. And now everyones saying that she went missing or something?
Duplo: That's odd…
Suddenly, there's an announcement in the speakers
“Everyone please report to the auditorium for an assembly”
As everyone headed over there, there were two police officers on the stage along with Victoria's parents. The teacher, Mr Podsner, stepped to the podium
Mr Podsner: Students, we regret to inform you that our beloved star of the school, Victoria Timber, is dead.
This causes everyone in the crowd to audibally yell “WHAT?!” There’s conversations going on all at the same time but Mr Podsner shushes everyone.
Mr Podsner: Everyone calm down. This school will be under immense protection. We will not let any other student die prematurely. However, he has found a jacket near the crime scene that is identical to the uniform this school wears. Please keep in mind that the murderer might be around. Thank you and please return to your class
As the students begin to leave, Duplo is still in shock.
Duplo: Someone killed my Victoria…
Damien: Dude lets go…
Duplo: No! My Victoria has been murdered in cold blood! I will make sure I will find this culprit and bring them to justice!
Damien: Come on!
Damien drags Duplo out of the auditorium as they bump into the police chief himself. Officer Jowl
Jowl: Hello boys
Damien: Hi Mr Jowl… what are you doing here?
Jowl: Just wanted to check up on my son.
He says turning to Duplo
Duplo: I’m fine dad…

Duplo: Um… may I see Victoria’s Autopsy report?
Jowl: …son I don’t think you should. It’s way too graphic for someone like you.
Duplo just looks down as tears start to stream down his face.
Duplo: I-I just wanted to be like you… I want to help people… I want to make sure this never happens again and… and… poor poor Victoria…
He starts to break down on the ground as Jowl gets up
Jowl: Woah woah take it easy! L-Look… I’ll get you a copy and maybe you can help us out…
He gets out a file and hands it to Duplo, who tries to wipe the tears away
Duplo: T-thanks dad… I’ll make you proud…
Jowl: We’ll see, son.
He runs upstairs into his room and locks the door. He opens up the file and reads the report
Victoria Timber: Age 18
Cause of death: Stabbed the death. The body was found in a forest path where she had multiple stab wounds on her chest. Her arm was ripped off and placed next to her. There seems to be bite marks all around her body which don’t seem to be from any animal, but a human. However, there are no fingerprints
That last sentence seems to make Duplo realize something… he remembers what happened last night.
Last night, Duplo was sleeping and then he gets a call from Damien
Damien: Hey man, I was just wondering, could you spy on Victoria while she walks to the restaurant
Duplo: Why me?
Damien: Hey, you’re the one who wants to check out her the most. Besides, I trust you. See ya.
The phone hangs up as Duplo just stands there. He walks downstairs and puts on his jacket… but he stares at a knife from the kitchen… He puts on the gloves, usually used to clean dishes, and picks up the knife. His expression turns into one of joy… maybe even mania.
Duplo: …Easy prey.
Later, Victoria is walking down the road as she happily hums to herself.
Victoria: I got a date with a cute boy~ yay~
Then she feels someone grab her shoulder
Victoria: Oh hello stranger!

The minute she turns around, Duplo stabs her right in the chest. Victoria tries to scream but Duplo forces her to kiss him. Victoria, with little strength she has left, pushes away, causing his jacket to fall off. This makes Duplo tackle her onto the ground and repeatedly stab her in the chest. And then… Victoria draws her last breath. Her pulse stops as she just stares lifelessly at the sky. Duplo feels her skin, her soft, soft skin… he wonders how it would taste… so they can be together forever… as he begins to rip off her arm and chomp on her flesh… he feels joy. Delicious… As he walks off, he tosses the arm away as he heads home… He washes the knife, tosses the gloves in his neighbors trash bin, and replaces the missing gloves with new ones his mom bought earlier. Duplo thought to himself…
“If I get put to sleep faster, the sooner my memories of tonight will fade… it’s like I was never there…”
He proceeds to grab a bottle of his moms melatonin and chugs about 30 pills. The minute he lies down, he’s out cold.
Back in the present. Duplo is having a crisis…
Duplo: Oh my god… but it’s okay… it’s fine… no one knows… no one knows what I did…
???: And for how long?
He turns around and sees Victoria… standing in front of him, her arm gone and her chest bleeding.
Victoria: Don’t lie to me… I knew you enjoyed every second of that, you sick freak.
Duplo: Wha-
Victoria: Oh please. You can say your “I’m sorry”’s or your “Please forgive me”’s but you know I’ll never forgive you…
She gets dangerously close to Duplo as her lifeless eyes stare him down
Victoria: Murderer.
She disappears leaving Duplo with his thoughts. Maybe he could turn himself in, whats a couple hundred years in prison gonna do? No. He’s gone too far to back down now… if he just plays it safe, he will be fine! 100%! The next day, Duplo walks to school and meets up with Damien.
Duplo: Hey.
Damien: Hey. I heard they’re hosting a funeral for Victoria in the cafeteria… They’re giving away pudding cups too. Her favorite treat…
Duplo and Damien walk to the cafeteria and they see a lot of students all dressed in black morning pictures of Victoria.
Duplo: I wonder if she still tastes good…
He says thinking about the smooth texture of her skin. His mouth waters a bit but Damien stares at him weirdly so he snaps out of it

Duplo: ahem sorry, I was thinking about the pudding cups.
Damien: Of course you were. Hey, can we talk? Somewhere private?
Duplo: Yeah, let's go.
They both head into an abandoned classroom. Damien locks the door as Duplo leans on a desk
Duplo: So, what's it now? Did you see that new video game that was released the other day? I’m telling you, it’s great.
Damien: I’m not dumb, Duplo
Duplo: What?
Damien: I called you that night. You answered, and it was your job to protect Victoria. And you were the only one to be with her…
Duplo suddenly remembers. That's right! The whole reason Duplo knew Victoria was gonna be at the forest was because of him… and if Damien gave him the info… That means…
Duplo: Woah woah woah… you’re not saying I did it, do you?
Damien: That's exactly what I’m saying! The school jacket was also there and I remember you having that exact one!
As Damien continues talking, Duplo walks up to him slowly… Victoria appearing behind him
Victoria; God… you’re disgusting. You’re planning on doing it to your best friend?
Duplo: All for you, my bunny…
Damien: Who the hell are you talking to-
Duplo takes out a pair of scissors and scrapes them on the desks as he continues to approch Damien
Duplo: …no one must ever know…
Damien: Get the hell away from me!
Damien tries to book it, but Duplo grabs him and slams him onto the desk. He then points the scissors at him as Damien tries to stop the blade from getting closer but it keeps digging deeper and deeper until it’s right into his neck… and with one final push-
Duplo walks into the cafeteria eating some food outside. One of the kids goes up to Duplo
Kid: Excuse me sir! Would you like to buy a pudding cup? All cash will be used for charity to honor the ones we lost
Duplo: No sorry I’m broke. Besides, I already have a meal.
Kid: I see… thanks anyways sir.
The kid walks off and asks other people as Duplo eats his meal. He smiles to himself now that no one is around. He whispers
“So that's how you taste like… Damien…”

Later that night, Jowl arrives home from a busy day at work
Jowl: Hey honey! I hope you prepared some dinner! I’m starving!
There's no response… The house is quiet… but he hears noises from upstairs. Jowl knocks on the door to Duplos' room. No answer. He barges down the door after trying to ask him to come out and what he sees next will scar him forever. He sees Duplo, feasting on the corpse of his mother, who is still alive, and crying at every bite her son takes.
Jowl: What the hell…
The room is filled with drawings of Victoria and Duplo. Getting married, hanging out at the beach, eating together, with only one sentence.
“Love is the strongest curse”
Duplo turns around and sees his father. The sounds of his mother crying filling the air.
Duplo: She was taking too long to cook dinner. So I had to prepare it myself…
He says smiling. Jowl takes a step back as he reaches for the phone
Duplo: Don’t bother. I already cut the cords on every single one. And I dealt with the police already… They were fine appetizers…
Jowl: Son… what have you done…
Duplo: Come on, Dad. Why don’t you take a bite?
He says as he presents his moms half eaten body, as she continues to cry, blood dripping out of her mouth.
Duplo: I wish you told me mom was pregnant… but I guess it tastes nice too…
Jowl takes out his gun and aims it at Duplo but he just smiles
Duplo: You think that scares me?
He pulls out a gun himself.
Jowl: How-
Duplo: I found the spare in your cabinet. You’re terrible at hiding gifts…
Duplo smiles as he raises the gun up and shoots the light, causing everything to go black. Jowl tries to fire but he’s already gone. The bastard got away. The next day, Jowl's wife was pronounced dead. As he reads his son's journal, he decides to add his own experience near the end. Later he heads to Duplos' old school as he goes to his old locker. He slides it in and turns away. Never looking back.
Jowl: I will find you, Duplo.

A couple years later
A certain brown haired boy walks back into his old school
Matt: ah, nostalgia.
He turns to a locker that he has never seen anyone use
Matt: Hm… I always wondered what was in there. Welp, can’t hurt to find out.
He rips the locker door off with brute strength alone and find a book
Matt: Hm… what's this…
He opens the book to see complete gibberish.
Matt: What the… Maybe Spark can translate this later…
He skims through it and then sees a decoder, in a different handwriting than the beginning
Matt: Hm. That was easy… let's start at the beginning…
“Duplo’s Journal”
As Matt continues to read, he is extremely shocked. By the fact that this even happened, or the fact that he’s still around.
Matt: I have to tell everyone.
He runs off to tell the story of Duplo. Meanwhile, Venus finishes closing up her Cafe. as she closes the doors and walks off to her house, a certain individual watches her
