i've been talking with them, they've explained to me that they're considering doing it just to feel something. I'm doing a damn better job making sure he doesn't actually do something stupid then just saying "don't be sad" or "call 988" ever could

btw 811 is the national hotline to request digging in your yard. 988 is the suicide hotline.

They haven’t actually encouraged self harm (I opened the link). But they haven’t helped and just belittled someone who is troubled enough to seek help. It’s not easy to seek help in person, and this is anonymous.
You and I have both tried to help someone who was contemplating suicide and posting about it here. That’s all we can do. If Saki does nothing else, they can just scroll past these sorts of posts. “First, do no harm.”
