Hello. I am currently hiding in the park’s lounge bathroom.

My period started yesterday, but it was alright because I was at home, able to grab a pad. I took two tampons with me because I knew we would be swimming. I was a moron and didn’t grab extra pads. We have today and tomorrow. Luckily- my periods normally only last two days because I’m extremely light.

I had to use one. I’m bleeding heavier than usual-

I’m scared. I hope we go home early tomorrow. I might tell my mom tomorrow morning too if I’m still bleeding. She can’t know right now. She doesn’t know I have the tampons. She’s very against them. I smuggled them from my grandma, she gave them to me. Rare grandma w.

We’re about to go swimming. I hope I don’t leak 😭

I’m going to make a guess that its either because safety concerns or old outdated beliefs. Tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome if they're used incorrectly so using pads is seen as a safer option. As for outdated beliefs, some people used to say tampons interfered with virginity and tightness, and there might be some people who still think like that…
