yes, but in most scifi an entire civilisation might barely have a planet killing weapon.

in 40k if a single ship can't kill a planet, but still has all other weapon syystems, it's a merchant ship

but I love how they keep the fleet size realistic, and in the lore a single ship may have it's own unique launguge
