The people were faster with the 2+2=5 with changing it to 2.4+2.4=4.8 so they could round it up and down to match their desired outcome.

-2 is the bigger force compared to the power of 1 as it pulls the number success fully into the negative making and overpowers the positive force applied to; therefore -2 > 1.
