You are right that AI is vastly overrated. It believes everything it reads, it can't tell fiction from reality, when you ask it to cite sources it makes up phony bibliography entries on the fly, it can't understand human emotions, and it requires massive data centers to run it and running it uses more electricity than Google and other search engines.
