You seem to have the secular messaging down on this. That message is incorrect. Those of us that follow the God of the Bible and His Son, also God, Jesus Christ are not against people. We are for all people by Devine mandate. We are also against sin as defined by God, again, by Devine mandate. All sin is to be avoided as God is perfectly sinless. We are all broken people living in a broken world and therefore each of us struggle against our sinful physical nature. We fall, sin and get back up again and trust in God's mercies to forgive our failings. We cannot however, commit the same sins, repeatedly, brazenly and expect to be forgiven. We point this out, not from hate, but from love as we don't wish anyone to be separated from God in the next life. We are messengers attempting to reach the lost and provide all with the directions needed to get them to their best destination. If I, specifically, was against anyone, I would not tell them they are heading for a cliff. I would tell the lost that they are just fine; do what they want. But if I were against people, I would be as lost as they are. The sinner, of whatever sin, is not helped by encouraging them in the sin they are chained to. Reassuring someone on their way to hell is not a plus, and certainly not love. Each of us has every right to make our own choices in life but none of us get to choose the consequences for our choice.
