You're absolutely right, our boomer parents told us to stay in school so we can go to college and be able to get a good job, otherwise we would grow up stupid and not get a job and be failures in life. They probably have no right to complain about us attending "Marxist indoctrination centers" when they are the ones who insisted we need to go to college.

I even remember attending a seminar after high school with my father saying how all the tips there would help me get a better college admission and deal.

It was literally all about how you need to sell yourself like a product to college admissions and getting multiple offers so you can negotiate for better grant packages.

He is now one of the people saying they are indoctrination centers and are scams then blames me for not going out into the world more because I’m paying off my loans. “Some people are just to scared to try new things” me:“no I’m just not stupid enough to skip payments on the only type of debt that can’t be discharged through bankruptcy but could tank my credit score.”

Every time he was late on his half of rent and when he was homeless and crashing on MY couch in MY apartment.

Oh he is a fine one to accuse you of being irresponsible. He criticizes you for not blowing your income on an extravagance such as traveling even though you're doing the responsibile thing of paying off your debts but he isn't responsible enough pay his own basic living expenses. He should be grateful you're letting him stay with you because any other landlord would've kicked his ass out to the curb for being late on the rent. I've been unfortunately enough to have quite a few landlords badly screw me and try to evict me at whim when I was only a few days late on the rent and wasn't even in arrears. He should be grateful his lucky ass doesn't have to deal with that and he should behave himself a lot better when he is under the roof of his own kid who is now having to be the parent to him.

To be fair he only lost his job and made homeless by Covid as he was a server so I took pity on him because…I mean who can predict a pandemic…

The rent situation was post college and I was getting on my feet as a server as well until I got my current job. I’d pay his half then he’d always pay it two weeks late…then brag how much money he made as a good server.

But eventually I forced him out because he was just insufferable with his non stop prager u esque politics because he’d binge YouTube while day trading his government checks. I had to take a shot of bourbon just to go clean my guinea pigs cage.

We haven’t spoken in over a year now unless it was a family emergency like my grandmother (his mom) going to the hospital.

I’m happily married and living with my wife now and god willing she’ll never meet him in person as I sent him a message once about it after talking about his mom’s health scare. “Oh you finally found your Mulan, I always knew you’d end up with a German car and an Asian chick.” And haven’t responded since…
