Humans are one single species. Birds on the other hand, are different species. There’s eagles, parrots, and turkeys, but for humans there is only one species: Homo sapiens.

Now look: a single species of parakeet could have many different color feathers, but we don’t characterize them by that.

Your analogy is quite wrong, and you might want to look up the difference between species and race (also called subspecies)

Next time someone says -we're all one race, the human race- around you, respond with: 'How long have you been referring to pigeons as eagles?' The resultant expressions are classic. Plus it's dangerous business to let folks escape with such specious sloganeering: entire ethnic or racial groups could go missing.
