In March 2021, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recommended Damian Williams to be the next U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. President Joe Biden nominated Williams to serve in the role.
Williams began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Merrick Garland of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit
From 2009 to 2012, he was a litigation associate at Wharton & Garrison.
Upon his confirmation, Williams was slated to oversee cases including the trial of Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. BTW, Maurene Comey, daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, is the lead prosecutor in the case.
Lawyer Roberta Kaplan for E Jean Carroll and also Ashley Biden’s lawyer, also worked for Wharton & Garrison. Also of note, Reid Hoffman the billionaire is the one that funded E Jean Carroll, and is known for his frequent visits to Epstein's Island....
