To the person I accidentally cut off on FL SR528 last week:
I am truly embarrassed and sorry I misjudged the distance you were behind me in the passing lane. I thought I had at least 10 car lengths between me and you when I passed the gravel truck I was following from the on-ramp.
However, gauging the speed at which you closed the gap between yourself and my car, I have a clear idea of how fast you were driving and know you were easily going 90+mph if not more since I have a lead foot myself and you made no attempt to slow down until nearly rear-ending me.
What stupid fool doesn't look a quarter mile down the road, see an on ramp, and a heavy truck with car(s) following it, and does not at least take foot off gas pedal? The left blinker on a car behind those trucks should be a heads up to most drivers.
Newsflash: You drive 90+mph on this road someone WILL cut you off. It's a matter of time; there is too much traffic to maintain that speed without running into a group of cars driving slower than you. Too bad for me I was the unfortunate schmuck to get in your way.
I tried to remedy the problem by passing the truck asap into the right lane so you could pass asap and be on your merry way. But that wasn't enough. You thought I was ignoring you when you matched my speed (about 80), and rolled down your passenger window. What did you expect me to do? Roll down my window and get hit in the face with your cussing and perhaps a milk shake or latte?
So you tried to veer into my lane and make me run off the road. You do realize we drive the similar model, make, and size car, and my car is a high mileage 13 year old car with bad paint, and yours is much newer and nicer than mine. Who's really going to lose, here?
So then you cut in front of me going 80 and break check me a couple of times. This is when I leaned on the horn. You don't realize when you deliberately put people in danger like that you really don't know how they will react. This is what I was thinking: 1. I wasn't sorry for cutting you off at that point. I was actually thinking if you were going to ruin my life with a deliberate accident I would make it worth my while and do my best to drag you to hell with me. 2. I would have not passed the truck; instead, I would have hogged the left lane beside the truck and blocked you and everyone behind you from passing me until you were good and late. So cheers, and some advice, you didn't prove anything to me but what a d*ck/c*unt you are.
