The complexion of the crowd was mixed, although as you pointed out, it leaned more towards a certain complexion that would have been more of a minority in that neighborhood and those surrounding it. And not only that, it wasn't just THE complexion, it was the type, the demographic.
Note the beards - the type of those beards (not the regular beards, people do have those round here). I've seen like two of those in the entirety of my life here in the Bronx, and yet the crowd is peppered with them. Those fellas are NOT from the New York metropolitan area. I've walked through Crotona Park, and surrounding areas, I lived in a neighborhood not too far from it.
The neighborhood I'm in now has more of the race you referred to, but they sure don't look like that. You'd have to cross New Jersey and head well into Pennsylvania to find people that look like that. It's a bit of a ride.
