I don’t blame JJ Abrams for the sequels being horrible. He was in charge of 7, and then was either fired or Disney had already planned on having different directors for all three movies. They also didn’t have the story written out, the went movie by movie. Anyway, Abrams was doing what he does for most of his films where he sets up lots of questions that will be answered later. I personally think TFW was pretty good. Then Rian Johnson came along, and he’s the one that said “f— that s—, I’m doing my own thing.” TLJ sucked, Finn would’ve been respected by even sequel haters if he sacrificed himself. So then there was supposed to be a third director for TROS, but he quit or something, so Disney brought back Abrams. JJ tried to fix the wreck that Johnson had made, and I think he did a decent job with what he was given. Yes, it could’ve been better, and Palpatine should’ve stayed dead, but I think it wound up better than Last Jedi. The lesson here is to keep the same director and have the ending planned out. Also, have better choreography. The lightsaber fights gradually deteriorated with each movie
