I have a theory; All the "abuses" in our world are caused by; our inability to live up to what we know we are capable of; so we abuse ourselves, everything on the planet and those around us, because it's easier than fighting the BROKEN system; that others have inaccurately, and selfishly, deemed "The Only Right Way" just because their way is easiest for THEM
