The Amish do wear colors, especially when
young, though favoring subtle shades such as
blue, dark green, purple, rust or mustard - they
don't want to stand out from family & friends
too much. After marriage some do choose
white, black & gray to avoid tempting others. Old/True Believers of the Russian Orthodox Church on the other hand believe that the God who created blue skies & sea, green plants, red fire & the rainbow
loves color. They believe that it pleases
both Him & themselves to dress brightly.
