Here's the context:
I was scrolling through the comments of a fun stream post when I came across someone who had said "shut up stupid furry" to a furry. Being the person that I am (and also technically a furry myself), I hopped in with a semi-lengthy retort. The essential ideas are that one, the person thinks that they can do anything they want because they're behind a screen (which is wrong), and two, that person has applies a very incorrect stereotype to a large group of people without any evidence to support their claim.
I think that anti-fur arguments are stupid and uninformed. Now yes, some furries can be jerks. I don't like those furries. But a lot of furries are actually really nice. I hate it whenever I see a comment that is tearing down furries for so much as breathing. It's like upvote begging: it may have been relevant (and maybe even socially acceptable) at one time, but now, whenever you say "oh, you're a furry, so you must be the bad guy" is just stupid. Lots of anti-furs are just looking for fights. I hate it when people - good people - with posts - good posts - have comment sections full of hatred towards them just because they're a furry.
AND ANOTHER THING: There is a MAJOR DIFFERENCE between a furry and a zoophile. A furry is someone who has an active interest in antrhopromorphism of animals (antrhopromorphism literally means giving human-like traits to non-human or lifeless objects). A zoophile is someone who is sexually aroused by animals. They are not the same. Even though I'm a furry, I'm not a furry simply because I like wolves; I'm a furry because I decided "why the hell not" because my life was getting boring. Furthermore, being a furry who likes wolves doesn't make me a zoophile.
