Heckyl: "It's a matter of perspective. For example, if you were a relative of one of those bugs killed by the Radiance, you might see the Radiance in a hostile light, and the Pale King as a hero for creating the Vessels to kill it. However, from the perspective of a bystander who only appeared after all this happened, like the Knight, they could see either as a villainous party, depending on their moral compass. But from the perspective of someone who disliked the Pale King, or an insane person, the Radiance might seem like a semi-heroic entity for opposing the Pale King. Then there are people who choose not to have an opinion on these things, because they don't affect them directly. There's also people who switched sides due to transpired events. I'm not even considering this question from the perspectives of the Pale King and the Radiance themselves, since it would make this even MORE confusing. My personal opinion is that the Pale King can be both 'good' and 'bad:' the Pale King shouldn't have thrown the Radiance aside like he did, but the effect the Vessles had, even if it was only a little, cannot be ignored. The Radiance, however, is all 'bad:' if it were a regular person, it could be accused of genocide, and, if found guilty - which is incredibly likely - would be sentenced to death, even if it was acting in revenge."
