It's never too late to change that. Any change starts with the decision to do so and it's done bit by bit until it just becomes the norm. So if you want to be more active here again, you could be if you choose to be. (unless irl experiences and expectations prevent you from being able to do that of course. If they do, its totally understandable.)

so why stop them? its their choice (thining aloud here) old legends leave in a glorious finale, leaving space for "young" newcomers eager to leave their mark. i feel like i might leave when i finish highshchool.

Because of friendship/community. While we know everyone has to leave eventually, it always sucks to have to say goodbye to a friend you may never see again. It's sad and we know we’ll miss them.

we do things for the last time all the time. its confusing because you would think that it would only happen on death row. when was the last time you saw that guy in the other state? your not going to see them again(likely). and to all who are leaving within the coming months i wish you good luck in the real world. its harsh and your going to need all the suport you can get.

That's different. Someone leaving from the site is often done was a heads up and goodbye message so you know it's going to happen and you know this could be your last moment to ever interact with you friend…which is a sad experience. Something like seeing someone in person for the last time could very well be done unknowingly without any heads up and because you don't know that it's your last interaction, you don't have a reason to be sad until maybe long after.
