Yeah, that is why I compared it to Undertale. Because the monsters want to kill all humans to avoid human influence on their society, specifically after Asriel died. That would align pretty well with japanese philosophy during the Sakoku period. Although, for the monsters it was partially not by choice, but the overall alleogry is still rather apt I feel.

Yeah, true... Toby did a good job making the monsters actually sympathetic though, so props to him. Most would just say humans are inherently infailiable and leave it at that.
