I have nothing against alternative energy sources, well, save two or three little things:
1. None so far come close to meeting our need for affordable energy.
2. There is a cult-like attitude out there that will not allow honest discussion about topics like the environmental impact of solar and wind farms as well as battery production and disposal. If I mention that the solvents used to make batteries are far worse for ecology than carbon, the response is almost always hostile, childish insults directed at me personally.
3. Surely saving the planet can be accomplished without people losing all our rights. And why does climate policy always sound like a Marxist wish list?
I spend a lot of my free time in the woods or on a river. I don't need people who have never set foot outside of the concrete jungle explaining environmental issues to me. Not saying that's you, but it sure is a common occurrence. Oh yeah, and ...
4. Stop scaring kids. we are not going to fry in less than 2 years unless we stop driving gas cars. If you really want to switch, it will take time. Period.
