I haven't seen polling that supports your statement. I suspect that if you polled people on the left they would say it all comes from the right and vice-versa.
America was designed to make some division, usually a systemic weakness, into a strength by giving people of varying political affiliations the same-equal rights of freedom of speech, press and similar issues important to support of differing political orientations. The expectation was that automatically having these freedoms would eliminate the need to use force to get them. That, in turn is supposed to result in the peaceful assertion of rights.
Former Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. summed this up when he said. "Your 'Freedom of Speech' ends at my nose." I am among the Americans, who see the use of inciteful language, like "If you don't fight like Hell, you aren't going to have a country anymore," by Trump as he directed his 1-6-21 rally goers to descend on the Capitol Building, as exceeding these limits. Also, planning the arrest of people based on political party not because of any illegal acts, to get "Retribution," is decidedly Unamerican.
If Trump had not allegedly, paid off a porn star and had legally accounted for the money involved he would not be on trial. Had he not allegedly taken hundreds of top-secret government documents then refused to return them to their legal custodian when ordered to do so, he would not face that trial in the future. He has been legally tried and convicted in major civil cases. His legal troubles stem from what he has allegedly done, not who he is or his political affiliation,
