The Zionist Entity under Netanyahu, is trying to create a larger conflict in the Southwest Asia/North Africa region, and ideally to get the US into a war with Iran (something Netanyahu has been trying to achieve now, for more than a decade or two). Since that's not going to go well, for the US - and Blinken and Biden know this... Realistically speaking, it's probably not the Brandon Regime behind this one.
