Yes and no. If we can get anyone to campaign we'll have a late election. If we got nobody interested, the election will be postponed. The main game of the stream, satirical campaign ads, is generally more fun with multiple candidates.

Perhaps they were new to this and didn't know about coming up with a proper ticket for their candidates for President, VP, and HOC, but...

They never got past the announcement stage.
If they wanna be president, of course it can be arrange via a special election. But generally i can't hold a proper election without people campaigning.
