For decades China has had a one child per family policy in which fines must be paid to have two or more children, which most Chinese can’t afford. As they want sons, the girls are often aborted. This is causing a surplus of unmarried Chinese men now of military age. Their solutions are either export them to other countries, or start a war. The two policies are not mutually exclusive.
