Audiosexual, a sexuality where you are attracted to someone’s voice. For audiosexuals, the sound of someone’s voice plays a significant part into how you experience attraction. It’s one of my micro labels. sometimes I can hear a voice (from someone that's age appropriate) and it just does it for me. And i’m instantly interested in that person. Lol. Some other audiosexual people could have a certain accent they are attracted to or maybe how deep someone’s voice is. Me? I don't have the specifics nailed down. I just know it when I hear it.

The reason it is its own specific label is because many sexualities have to do with another gender’s appearance. If someone is more interested in what they hear instead of what they see, it is an experience most people do not experience since a lot of people are more interested in the other’s physical appearance.

Semificto comes from the “ficto” umbrella (fictosexual, fictoromantic, and fictosensual) which are people who have only experienced attraction to fictional characters. A semificto is someone who experiences significant attraction levels to both fictional characters and real life people. They are just as likely to fall for or have a crush on a fictional character as they are to fall for or have a crush on a real life person. I don't care if it's “cringe”. A lot of people will think it is. Its up to me how I want to identify and I feel like it fits.

It doesn't seem like something major enough for a term tho

Hypothetically, someone could be attracted only to the sound of other people’s voices and not physical appearances. They would struggle with how to identify because they are attracted to others (so they are probably not asexual) but they also aren't attracted to physical appearances or gender-based attributes so they might not feel comfortable saying they are gay, bisexual, straight, etc. This would cause them a lot of confusion about how to identify in a world that's so focused on physical appearances. Someone like that would be entirely grateful to stubble upon the term audiosexual and would feel like they are no longer alone in feeling this way. If enough people identified with the term, they could have their own nice little community like the Aces have.

For me though, I use it as a micro-label to partially explain how I experience attraction.
