Ok…. Now we technically know what humans look like in MD….

Well, actually, humans (supposedly) look normal. The reason that they appear as black shadows with white glowing eyes in Home and the flashback from Heartbeat is because N (and V, technically) can't remember what the humans looked like exactly. However, they are normal humans.

Some effed up shit happened to Tessa, though. We just don't know *what* effed up shit.

Just checked the wiki: apparently, we *do* know what effed up shit happened to Tessa: she was murdered by Cyn the night she massacred the gala, and her corpse was grafted onto Cyn's body so that she could pass as a human to do that thing with exploding the computer to assist in tying up loose ends.

But we don’t know how realistic Murder Drones looks compared to real life.
