Want to know how likely it is for a woman in her 40's, 50's, and sometimes 60's to become pregnant? Just research your own family history on Ancestry, 23 and me, etc., to learn of the women who had babies well into these advanced ages prior to legal birth control methods becoming available. You may also notice that several of these women didn't survive childbirth and/or their infants didn't survive. ("Pro-Life", my ass).
I've discovered that my own family (on both sides) were very fertile all through their 40's and 50's and were late to go through menopause. Every woman can become pregnant while going through menopause and ONLY once their menstrual cycles have completely stopped are they no longer at risk of pregnancy.
With the threat of criminal prosecutions hanging over every woman and her doctor's head for abortion, and now even possibly birth control, it's amazing women haven't completely shut down all sex with men. Having a potentially life-threatening pregnancy for a woman's in her 50's is a real threat. For our mother's, grandmother's, sisters, daughter's, friends, and all future young women to lose her bodily autonomy so she may be treated (with dignity and PRIVACY by her own private physician) without some random religious congressman involved in these personal decisions is irresponsible legislation and frankly, completely insane.
