I have advocated converting all coal fired power plants to Natural Gas, for years. The conversion is relatively cheap, NG is plentiful and cheap and it does less harm. We are probably going to have some fossil fuels as long as there are people. I am for any energy source that creates jobs and profits and does not kill us. The "Rare Earths," are probably available in many countries, They need to be "Mined and refined." Several of our Western Hemisphere Neighbors have existing mining industries or have had them. Producing "Rare Earths," could be growth industries and it would help break China's near monopoly on them.
