In the digital world, bright colors are often called primary colors, for example that green text with the orange shadow. they would both be primary colors and we are taught not to use those especially against lighter backgrounds as it can prove to be very hard to see.
now more muted versions of those colors will be wonderful.
heres another tidbit
there are warm and cool colors, which are pretty much exactly what we know them as, except while warm colors are not as bright as primary colors, they are still somewhat brighter than secondary colors and should be used carefully.
cool colors are the more muted tones, often using an undertone of a muted green or blue.
there is a 2:1 ratio to these colors where you use 2 secondary colors in a design and one warm color to be used as a focal point.
i would make your green much darker, like this (image)
while this isnt the best example, it is an option that could be considered as it is definitely easier to read.
