Reviewing all of the new Doctor Who specials:; D-; Didn't feel well put together. The CGI and and Practical effects were okay, but to me at least, everything felt off. To me, this felt like a first draft of a story. It needed major improvements. W EPISODE. It felt like a classic 10th Doctor adventure. Sure, the special effects were cheesy, but Who is known for cheesy effects, which added to the nostalgia. Bonus, the story was great, with a decent Who mystery. My favorite of the specials. B+; ...
Honestly, without that "Bi-generation" bullshit, this was a solid episode. I liked how they tied in TV history into the story and I felt the Toymaker was a threating villain.
The regeneration though...
That ruined it for me. C-; C+; I mean...It's alright.
Not great.
Not Terrible.
Felt like the story could have used some work.
Not exactly looking forward to the run but as long as they don't pull a Star Beast, we're good.
